Sneak Peak #1

Just getting home from a fun filled evening. It was great night spent catching up with old friends. I did manage to complete 1 full page and most of another. This is also for the Creative Scrappers challenge sketch #189. Love all the layers in the sketch, right up my alley!

As soon as I opened the box of new goodies that arrived today, I knew what pictures I wanted to scrap. These set of pictures of Elliana went perfectly with the new Stella paper pack to be released February 1st!. The Flower is stamped with a new set called Just For You that will also be available on the 1st. Best of all, it coordinates with the AP cartridge.

The butterflies are Flutter Paper Shapes with some inking, shimmer spray made from pearl paint and waxy flax for the antenna's. They really shimmer and sparkle in real life.

Of course since I had more pictures than the sketch called for, I used the Handy Dandy Flip Flaps to make a little flip book on the page.

I am exhausted, time to get some sleep. Good Night All :)

Rock Formations

Yay! Two more pages completed. After a few busy weekends in a row, it was nice to spend the day crafting. Plus, Zane just went and picked me up a cup of coffee so now I can scrap the night away. Tomorrow Emily and I are going to lounge on the beach, so we can sleep then. I do need to give the dogs a bath at some point tomorrow. Cricket isn't able to get in the bathtub anymore, we have some buckets of water warming outside for her. The old girl is 15 now. We don't want to shock her with the cold spray of the hose. These days, she gets whatever she wants.

She does still get excited when we say the work "walk".

We can't forget about Murphy. I tend to call him "Murphy, the naughty dog". He gets into a lot of trouble. Tyler told me he tried to bring a piece of dog poop in the house the other day. YUCK!!! He loves anything stinky and has a ton of energy. Tyler uses his electric scooter to take him for a good mile run to try and tire him out. Murphy is our rescue dog and we love him to pieces, naughty and all.

Last but not least, the page I created today. I kept this one pretty simple, not a lot to do with rock pictures.........

I was very happy to use up the last of these Basic Grey Urban Couture papers. I have had them for years! For the title I used the actual Posterboard stamps for a mask. I just laid them upside down on the paper and misted some chocolate spray ink over them. I then stamped them in the masked areas. The rocks we picked up on the beach on one of our many beach adventures this summer. They are super thin and smooth.

The lines in the journaling spaces were easily made with a brown sharpie and a ruler.

Page 2 with Flip Flap. I am out of page protectors, so ignore the clip holding the flap in place. It worked for photo purposes. A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do!

Forbidden Caverns

I was so excited to go into the Caverns with Tyler, Emily, and Zane. I had went when my sister and I went to Florida nearly 20 years ago. I found them to be quite interesting and really enjoyed learning about all the rock formations. Here is the first 2 page layout of our afternoon adventure. Of course, I still have to journal, but I will wait until I have all the pages done. This way I don't repeat myself on the pages. Sometimes, I have a bad habit of this.

Page 1...

The papers are from Lucky level 2 (X7137B), the title are letters cut from the Happy Hauntings Cricut cartridge. The stars are from the Lucky chipboard embellishment pack (Z1356) with a little white stitching added to make them stand out a bit more.

The journaling block is cut from the Lacy Labels Cricut cartridge, I added a couple Canvas Badge Buttons (Z1397). The canvas buttons are so fun to stamp on for a custom embellishment. The chipboard quote is from same Lucky embellishment pack that the chipboard stars are in.

The layout design is from the Magic idea book. The bottom photo on the 2nd page folds down so I could add more photos to the page. To do this I cut a 12x12 photo storage memory protector in half which gives you 3 horizontal pockets to slide pictures into. Works like a charm!

The 32 oz. Prime Rib

As soon as Zane and I decided on where we were going for vacation, Zane started looking up steak houses. The man loves a good Prime Rib! Of all the things we had planned for vacation he was most looking forward to visiting Clint's BBQ for a 32 oz slab of meat. EWWWW! After our day of hiking, we were all starving and thirsty, the time had come. Again can I say EWWW! Don't get me wrong the food was great, we loved the mom and pop feel to the place, and especially enjoyed visiting with Clint himself. I never thought Zane would finish the "roast", but he did, well almost..... There was a little pile of blubber (aka fat) left on his plate. Normally he would eat this too, but there was a little bit to much fat for him. Again EWWWWW!

Rainbow Falls

In order for the pages to go in the Vacation album in the order I have them planned I needed to figure out how to turn this page into a 1 pager instead of 2. CTMH Flip Flaps to the rescue!

The new 12" flip flaps (Z1325) are perfect for adding extra extensions on your pages without having to do another page. You just remove the adhesive strip and stick them to the edge of the page protector. The price is great at $3.95 for 8 in 3 assorted sizes (6x12, 4x12, and 8x12 inches). I used one of the 8 x 12's for this layout.



A view of the page with the extra "flap" opened. I used papers from the CTMH Wings Collection (X7135B), love these papers!!! I cut a couple butterflies from the paper and attached with foam for some inexpensive accents.



A close up of the title.... I cut the title from a Quickutz 12" border die, perfect super skinny letters when you have limited space to put them in. Since I didn't have any twilight cardstock on hand, I stamped them with twilight ink with one of the pinwheel stamps from the Miracle WOTG kit (G1023). The best think about ink and paper, you can turn a plain white piece of paper any color you need. I still felt like they needed more..... so I covered them with liquid glass (Z679). Once the letters dried, they look like clear epoxy. CUTE! The chipboard circle is from CTMH On Target Dimensional elements (Z1226), inked with tulip ink, and some faux stitching with a white gel pen. If you have never used the dimensional elements, they are wonderful! Since they are white, you can easily ink and stamp them. No need to mess with paper covering / sanding.



The main picture of Rainbow Falls is bordered by some tree limbs and CTMH color ready borders (Z1377). The limbs are cut with Cricut and Serenade Cartridge. I was not feeling up to gluing the leaves on, so I stamped them green using the leaf stamp from the CTMH Sophia WOTG stamp set (G1019). I used a post it note to mask off the branch so the ink was on the leaves. The little birds are from the Sophia set covered in liquid glass as well as the words "Wonderful & Amazing".
